ALUMNI MUSICAL UPDATE:

  • We've got some structural things in place and can start getting some specifics together for the alumni musical.
We've applied for Legally Blonde, to be performed June 17, 2023 at 7:00 PM and Sunday June 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM. We would put a dress rehearsal on June 16 in the evening. We do not yet know if we have the rights - so far it is an application.
The plan is to have virtual auditions, where people would send video clips and Sha Riordan (director,) Holly Nowak, Deb Beal, and I would cast the show.
We'd then have to secure enough funding to get materials released to us.
We would send materials to cast members in early April and try to do most of this virtually - videos of choreography you'd have to practice, vocal parts you'd have to prep in advance. We'd try to get a few in person rehearsals together over the course of April and May.
In June, we would have to have a more significant commitment from cast members, because this show has some challenging stage to pit coordination. We are talking probably evening rehearsals a couple of times a week and maybe some weekend work.
Think about all this, and stay tuned for the real call to action.
Pit orchestra - remember that these are pro level books, and if you have not been playing pretty regularly it may not be realistic to take it on. But we'll let anyone who is interested take a look at the materials.
