Third graders got together in a cool way this past Thursday, as they celebrated Polar Express Day! After hearing the book, students worked on some Bloom’s Taxonomy “Polar Express” activities: creating maps of the train’s journey, making a Lost & Found flyer for the silver bell and transforming important scenes into a story board, were just a few ways the kids took the book to a new level! Afterwards, all the third graders got together in Mrs. Bissell’s classroom to watch The Polar Express movie. Besides being treated to popcorn and hot cocoa, they were enchanted by the room’s twinkly lights, streams of silver spanning the ceiling, and an abundance of snowflakes and glitter to finish setting the mood for their special time together. Happy Holidays everyone!
