Robotics in the District
- The Triton High School VEX robotics curriculum is designed to help students master the fundamentals of robotics and the engineering design process while learning to use industry-leading CAD software and the leading classroom robotics solution, VEX Classroom & Competition Robotics Kits.
- This curriculum leverages the “coolness” of robotics, and the excitement of head to head competition to inspire and engage students. Students will develop guidelines for in-house competitions collaboratively design, build adn program a mobile robot. The robotics program engages students in engineering design where they work collaboratively and with time constraints analagous to real-world application. During this process they will learn key STEM principles, and robotics concepts. At the culmination of this class, they will compete head-to-head against their peers in the classroom, or on the world stage in the VEX Robotics Competition, the largest and fastest growing international robotics competition for middle and high school students. No prior robotics experience is required; beginners are able to advance sequentially through the units to gradually increase their knowledge and skill level.
- Triton High School robotics team meets weekly to design and build robots for local state competitions. Each year students participate in the VEX robotics tournament hosted by WPI. In 2017, Triton took home four prizes including first place!
